What is an independent or private health advocate?A patient advocate is a professional who provides services to clients (or their legal guardians) who are navigating the complex healthcare continuum. Independent or private health advocates work directly with clients (or with their legal representatives) to ensure they have the necessary information and education to make informed decisions. Advocates provide peace of mind and ensure their clients have a voice in their care. An independent health advocate is solely dedicated to the client, ensuring their concerns and health as a whole are prioritized along their healthcare journey. An independent advocate does not work for an insurance company, hospital, or other institution. Payments are accepted directly from clients or those who choose to pay on their behalf.

Who would benefit from working with a pediatric patient advocate? The scenarios in which a caregiver can benefit from working with a patient advocate are endless! A patient advocate can provide a varying degree of support and comfort for caregivers of children experiencing acute hospital admissions, repeat hospital visits, complex medical needs, uncertain diagnoses, chronic illnesses, end-of-life planning, and so much more. Please see Our Services for more information.
-
Will insurance pay for a patient advocate?Unfortunately, insurance companies do not currently reimburse for advocacy services. Here at Arise Pediatric Health Advocacy, we pride ourselves in being wholly dedicated to our clients and not limited to insurance reimbursement requirements.
-
What is your Privacy Policy?Arise Pediatric Health Advocacy, LLC protects the privacy of our client’s health information and follows ethical standards set forth by the Patient Advocate Certification Board (PACB). Why Health Advocacy? The United States Healthcare system is complicated. Navigating the system without the proper knowledge can lead to an overwhelming, expensive experience. With vast education, experience, and knowledge of the healthcare system, health advocates are experts in managing the complexities of health, just as attorneys are experts in court and CPAs are experts in taxes. Health advocates work to ensure the healthcare experience is a positive one by facilitating communication with healthcare providers and empowering our clients with knowledge, information and resources to make informed decisions. This can lead to better health outcomes and fewer errors, likely reducing overall costs for patients. Health advocates focus on health, working with caregivers and providers to obtain an optimal level of health and wellness. Advocates have personal knowledge of their clients, allowing them to bring the entire aspect of our clients to medical providers.
